Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.

Melissa and Dylan’s heartfelt summer wedding at King Family Vineyards was relaxed, joyful, and completely true to who they are. These two have been together for the better part of a decade, having met in college in Boston. After moving to Maryland together, Melissa getting her PhD, and getting a puppy the week they got engaged (a truly wild thing to do 😂), these two were ready for the big day! They are both naturally laid-back, which made King Family Vineyards an easy fit, and their small wedding parties kept the day feeling especially relaxed. They also built in more portrait time than we have ever had at a King Family wedding! That gave them space to enjoy their first look without rushing. We explored the fields, visited the barn and horses, and even drove out to the vines for some gorgeous mountain views.
That trust was something we recognized even during their engagement session. Melissa and Dylan were playful and giggly together, even if they got a little shy when watched. They were also willing to try anything we suggested. One slightly out-there idea involved them lying on an old stone wall, and it ended up as their save-the-date image! Their wedding day brought that same spirit of adventure. During the traditional “bourbon dig,” it became clear that no one knew precisely where it was buried. Nearly twenty minutes of searching turned into an unexpected opportunity for photos (and laughter). Thankfully, a bridesmaid eventually discovered it while Melissa and Dylan were taking family photos! Dylan’s dad, John, officiated the ceremony, adding personalization and a few dad jokes. Later that evening, silly props made their way around the dance floor, and Melissa’s fellow microbiology PhDs absolutely brought the energy. It was exactly their kind of celebration!
Your summer wedding at King Family Vineyards was such a joy to photograph. We loved how intentionally you built the day around having time together. You never seemed interested in rushing through the experience. Instead, you gave yourselves room to explore, laugh, and enjoy every part of it. Also, we are so glad that your trust in us carried over from your engagement session into your wedding day! You were still willing to follow our ideas, even when they were a little unconventional, and we were able to capture some amazing imagery because of it. From mountain portraits to a missing bottle of bourbon, your day was full of personality. Thank you for letting us be part of such a relaxed and genuinely fun celebration!
With love,
Sarah and Hunter
