Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
The late-summer day was surprisingly cool as the sun shone through the trees at the Inn at Monticello. I could see Jonathan’s back to us just a few yards away as I walked an unsteady Madeline towards her soon-to-be husband. I could tell how nervous she was, so tried to lighten the mood by mentioning, “Hunter told me the first thing Jonathan asked was if the grass would stain your dress. He’s always thinking about you!” She laughed nervously, but didn’t say much in response. She was too focused on the man in front of her, and I readied my camera as she walked closer to him and lifted a hand to tap him on his shoulder.
As soon as he turned around, all her nervousness was gone. Relief flooded her face and was replaced by delight in a way that only the sight of the most important person in your world can do. We knew at that moment that no amount of hurricane threats or power outages would ruin their day, as long as they had each other. During a spare moment later in the evening, Hunter told me that despite having been with Jonathan for several hours up to that point, when he first saw his bride during the first look, Jonathan wore the widest and most genuine smile Hunter had seen on his face all day!
The entire wedding process has been an absolute pleasure with you two. From our very first meeting one year ago to your romantic engagement session earlier this summer and on to your wedding day, we have become so glad to call you both friends. Your wedding day was truly a labor of love and we hope that your marriage will carry on in that tradition as well: filled with the love of friends and family, and focused on the people you love and cherish, especially each other. Based simply on the way Jonathan looks at you Madeleine, we can tell that you two are in a relationship that will continue to blossom and grow for decades to come! We are so honored that you chose us to capture your special day, and we hope you won’t hesitate to call when you find yourselves back in Charlottesville again.
With Love,
Sarah + Hunter
