Intimate Elopement at Beaver Creek Reservoir Park

Like so many other couples right now, Laren and Dan are in the process of postponing their wedding day. Well, actually, right now Laren and Dan are in a cabin in New Hampshire enjoying their honeymoon ๐ But their wedding day — originally scheduled for the 4th of July Weekend — is looking less and less likely. Out of an abundance of caution, even before we captured their joyful sunset engagement session last month, they had decided to get officially married in a small ceremony at a park outside of Charlottesville with just their dearest friends and family.
Despite their guest list being winnowed down from 150+ to 5, Laren and Dan had no shortage of joy this past Sunday. With dozens of friends joining via a live-streamed Zoom call, this beautiful couple said their vows, and listened to a short homily about how marriage is often full of the unexpected. Amen to that, especially right now! The good news in all of this is that no matter what the next 12 months look like, and no matter when Laren and Dan finally do get to celebrate their marriage with all their friends and family, they’re married. They get to navigate this pandemic and the challenges of changing wedding plans as a married couple – as husband and wife!

Praise the Lord for the day you overhead us talking about wedding photography in a coffee shop! These last few months have been such a fun journey to walk with you guys, and seeing your overwhelming and genuine joy on your wedding day brought so much life to Hunter and I this weekend. We know from how you two looked at each other and laughed with each other this weekend that you both had such a genuine and heartfelt desire to be married to the other. We cannot wait to see what married life has in store for you two, and to do this all again sometime soon!
