Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
Something we love about planning a surprise proposal is the ability to put our client — the one proposing — at ease. A proposal is a huge step to take and is always a nerve-wracking experience. Planning with Hunter for his January surprise engagement at Keswick Hall was no exception! Hunter came into the proposal with a pretty solid plan, including the guise he would use to get Madison dressed up and on location (probably the most difficult part of keeping a proposal a surprise). Planning to show up a little early to go on a walk despite the freezing weather was just the thing to get Madison right where he wanted to propose — and it all went perfectly!
As I sat waiting on the bench where Hunter planned to go down on one knee, I was considering just how much planning goes into a proposal. Especially for couples like Madison and Hunter, who have been dating since college! It is so hard to keep a proposal a surprise from someone who knows you so well! Whether it was coordinating with the venue, making the reservation, or relieving Hunter’s mind from questions like, “which knee should go down when I kneel?”, there is so much that goes into a proposal and Hunter executed it all perfectly!
We are so glad we could be part of your surprise engagement at Keswick Hall earlier this winter! Your reactions were so joyful and genuine, and we just know you two have so much excitement and happiness ahead of you. We are so excited for this next chapter in your relationship, and we hope that the joy of these images will bless you two for years to come!
With love,
Sarah and Hunter
