Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
In the last year, we’ve seen many of our couples wonder why they should even bother rescheduling their wedding celebrations in a 2021. Many of them are already married, so — as the logic goes — why take on the huge burden of wedding planning again? Well, this past weekend, Caroline and Connor’s wedding celebration was a beautiful example of why we take the time to celebrate weddings, even the ones that took place last year. When Caroline and Connor eloped on the Virginia Beach Oceanfront in March of 2020, they were able to have most of their immediate family on the beach with them. But when they met on the Lawn and at the Local this year, they were able to celebrate with their friends, extended family, as well as their eight grandparents!
When Caroline and Connor opened the floor at their reception for anyone to give a speech, one set of grandparents did something truly unique. Since they hadn’t been able to attend Caroline and Connor’s elopement the prior year, they actually wrote a song that combined the newlyweds’ vows with the 1927 song ‘S Wonderful. This year, they stood up at their reception and sang it for them right there at the Local, acapella! It was such a special moment, and Hunter and I feel so honored that we were there to witness it! That moment, and so many others throughout the afternoon and evening, are why we’re so glad that many of our 2020 Elopements are still taking the time to gather with their many friends and family to celebrate their new life together.
It was such a joy to be a part of your journey these last two years! We don’t often get to walk alongside our couples beyond their wedding day and through their first year of marriage, and it was so wonderful to see you two as in love with each other after a year of marriage as your were at your elopement! We know that you will continue to grow with each other throughout your marriage and we hope to see you both again very soon!
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
