Even after capturing almost 40 surprise proposals, we’ve never had someone more prepared to propose than Brady. Not only did he reach out to us more than two months in advance to secure the date, but he drove nearly FIVE hours round-trip just a few days before the proposal just to scout the location and get a vision for his upcoming garden proposal! And to top it off, he then sent us an interactive virtual map for where to park and walk! He did most of our work for us, so when the day came, our only challenge was to blend in inconspicuously in a completely empty garden!

As Emily and Brady approached from the parking lot, our hearts began to beat faster. In our minds, they’d go straight to the spot that we had picked out with Brady, right? In reality, Emily had no idea why she was there, so of course she wanted to wander! As they meandered through the garden, taking in the incredible arrangements, Emily was surely wondering where their friends were. After all, Brady lured her there claiming they were meeting friends at a “UVA Med School Friends + Family Event”! But once they got in front of the bench, all was forgotten!
