From the very first moment that Annie and Tyler walked up to us at Raven’s Roost Overlook, we knew they were going to be a fun couple to shoot with. From the first hello they were all about big hugs, big smiles, and even bigger laughs. Whether they were snuggling up next to each other with the forest all around them, or looking out over the expansive views that you can only find in the Blue Ridge Mountains along Skyline Drive, they couldn’t help but laugh and have a great time with each other. It felt like Sarah and I were barely even there!

 

When it came to some of our more interactive and dynamic poses, they seemed to be naturals. Tyler walked up behind Annie and hugged her around her waist like he had done it a million times before. When Annie insisted that they switch places so she could come up behind Tyler, she – completely without warning – jumped onto his back and almost knocked Tyler to the ground! It had all four of us practically doubled over with laughter. The best part about this entire experience? It was a gift, and it almost never happened. In an effort to stay within their budget for their wedding next month, Tyler and Annie had made the difficult decision not to do an engagement session, even though they both wished they could have afforded one. Then, a family friend found Hunter and I and hired us to capture their session as a gift to them! We’re so glad they did 🙂

Thank you both so much for taking the time to shoot with us earlier this week, and for taking our Portrait Session Style Guide so seriously! We had a blast getting to know you two better, and our only regret is that we won’t be able to serve you again on your wedding day. We know that whoever is lucky enough to capture your big day next month won’t be very hard pressed to capture beautiful, genuine smiles as you two stare into each other’s eyes or enjoy your day. We wish you all the best in marriage, and hope to see you around Charlottesville sometime!
