Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
Hunter and I truly believe that one of the most important parts of an engagement session isn’t how we light our clients or the posing directions we give them, but how we connect with them as a couple throughout our time together. That may sound strange since, after all, shouldn’t getting good photos be the most important thing about an photoshoot?! We of course strive to deliver the best photos possible, but helping our couples feel confident and comfortable in front of us and our cameras is vital for them to have a great experience and get fantastic photos on their wedding day!
Take Christina and Patrick for example. We met these Richmond natives over video chat almost 9 months ago, more than a year before their October 2019 wedding. During our time together this past week, we got to get to know them on a whole new level as we saw how they interacted with each other and they saw how Hunter and I work together behind our cameras. We joked, posed, moved to a new spot, rinsed and repeated until 90 minutes had flown by and the sun was setting at their backs.
We’re so grateful for the opportunity we had to get to know you two so well on Monday evening! We know that when we show up in your getting ready rooms this fall, it’ll feel more like a reunion with friends than the arrival of vendors. Plus, we learned two really important things about you as a couple: Christina, you love to laugh and are always having a great time, and Patrick, you yawn when you smile for too long, which is definitely a first for us. This of course makes Christina laugh even harder – along with Hunter and I too! We hope these images are a great hold-over as we await your big day this October!
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
