Long-Awaited Spring Wedding at James Monroe’s Highland in Charlottesville

“Aw yesss!!” was Boris’s response every single time we told him the next pose would include kissing his bride Katie! We knew from our previous sessions with them — whether it was their sunrise session in Austin, Texas or their giggly engagement session in Charlottesville — that Boris was always ready with a kiss and a smile for his lovely bride! Their First Look was a moment filled with smiles, tears, hugs, and plenty of giggles. It was impossible to be near these two during their wedding day, and not catch their contagious smiles!

Katie and Boris began planning their wedding in the late summer of 2019! Waiting patiently for Katie’s braces to come off, they spent nearly two years planning this dream wedding — that was long enough for the entire COVID pandemic to come and (almost) go! There was some initial hesitation about what this year would look like but, much like Katie’s braces, the wedding went off without a hitch! Two years of planning resulted in the most perfect day in every way. The weather was wonderful, the details were gorgeous, and they were surrounded by loving friends and family. It was a long wait, but this wedding day was absolutely worth it.

We hope that Hawaii is treating you guys almost as well as you two treat each other! It was an absolute honor to capture every joyful moment of your engagement and wedding day, and we cannot wait to see you two again – whether it’s on our next trip to Austin or your next trip out East! After spending so much time together, this past Saturday really did feel like spending time with old friends ♥
