Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
“Did I mention I might be a little crazy?” Those words came to us in an email from Christina about a month before her and Patrick’s wedding day as we discussed how the final timeline was shaping up. Of course, Christina was not crazy at all, but she did have an ambitious goal: to have not one, not two, but three first looks on her wedding day! If you’ve been following the HSP Blog long, you know how much we love when our Bride and Groom share that intimate moment on the wedding day. Christina loved the suggestion so much that she wanted to extend the same opportunity to her father and her three brothers! The only problem: limited access to a venue that afternoon, a 5:30 pm ceremony, and an un-movable 6:30 pm sunset.
But despite the ultra-packed timeline, we managed to fit in all three unique and beautiful moments, in addition to our usual gamut of images from their day! The Historic Mankin Mansion was kind enough to allow us some extra time before the ceremony so we could deliver on all the photography that Christina and Patrick were dreaming of, and still leave them a few private moments to catch their breath. In the end, the weather, the timeline, the entire team of vendors — and of course Christina and Patrick and their friends and family — seemed to align on the same wavelength so that the day went off without a hitch.
Wow, this year-long journey that we’ve been on with you two has been a great source of joy for Hunter and I. We knew that whenever we posted a wedding or engagement session on social media, we could expect some heart-eyes from Christina (who has turned out to be one of our biggest fans)! Those little interactions throughout the process, the texts here and there about the engagement session or the timeline (or pictures of your puppy party) are what make the difference between vendors/clients, and friends. We wish you all the best in these early days of marriage, and hope you’ll look us up next time you’re on our side of Virginia 🙂
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
