Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. Weβre also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
“How do we make it seem like we aren’t lurking when we are literally the only ones here?” This was all we could think about as we waited for Ariana and Andy to arrive for their rainy surprise proposal. Andy had worked with us to plan this proposal down to the smallest detail. We even knew what car he was going to be arriving in! But the constant rain that October afternoon made for some last minute backup plans, but in the end we were able to stick with the original location! The only remaining hurdle was to make it ~appear~ like we had arrived at the overlook just seconds before Ariana and Andy… and not totally giveaway the entire surprise!
Andy walked Ariana out to the rocks we had identified with him ahead of time, got into position, and — despite the wet ground — got down on one knee! It was a perfect surprise! And when we talked to Ariana after, she told us we didn’t give Andy’s plans away. As he started into his proposal, one of her first thoughts was , “he’s going to do this in front of these people?” π We grabbed a couple extra umbrellas and took some quick portraits in the rain before sending them off to another surprise!
It was such an honor to be a part of your rainy surprise proposal! While the rain may not have been ideal, you guys have so many sunny days to look forward to as you walk together towards marriage! β After all being flexible is a crucial part of being married! And we can’t wait to see you both again soon at Grace and Anthony’s wedding! π
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
