Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
Something that Amanda said in her vows the evening of her and Victor’s elopement in Northern Virginia this past weekend has really stuck with me. The very first time this couple held hands, they were only 15 years old. They were walking behind their high school, and as Amanda stumbled over a speed bump, Victor reached out to catch her from falling, literally saying, “speed bump!” as he caught her. Over the years, Victor has apparently repeated that phrase during times in their relationship when something difficult or unforseen happened that they walked through together. The rain during their wedding ceremony was just another one of those small speed bumps along the road to marriage that Amanda and Victor have been walking for more than a decade now!
So much went absolutely perfectly throughout Amanda and Victor’s wedding day. Amanda was absolutely breathtaking from her perfectly crafted hairstyle, all the way down to the bottom of her butterfly-adorned veil! Victor was a perfect gentleman in his snappy navy suit, and his demeanor throughout the day told us how deeply he cared for his bride. Amanda’s love for butterflies showed up not just in her veil, but in a beautiful butterfly release just before their ceremony! And despite several last-minute changes of plan, their most beloved family was there to celebrate the first moments of their new life as husband and wife.
It would be all too easy to let rain on your wedding day spoil the day in your memory, but we know that you two have so much good to remember that the day will still be a happy memory for years to come. The many “speed bumps” over these last few months will undoubtedly be eclipsed by the way you two feel about each other, and the family that all travelled to be there for you! Plus, you two get the rare joy of being able to celebrate your wedding day twice, and we know that the next time we’re together, surrounded by dozens of friends and family, the memories will be just as sweet!
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
