Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.

Carson and Travis planned a truly unforgettable spring wedding at the Market at Grelen, and somehow, the weather seemed determined to make it even more dramatic and memorable. For more than a week leading up to the wedding, the forecast predicted nonstop torrential rain. Not exactly what everyone hopes for. But when the morning finally arrived, the skies stayed calm. Soft overcast light covered the property, creating the kind of conditions photographers dream about. We could shoot anywhere on the grounds without worrying about harsh sunlight or shadows. From the very beginning of the day, everything felt relaxed and full of anticipation. Carson and Travis shared an intimate first look surrounded by maroon maple saplings, before exploring the property for portraits with their wedding party and family.
As if by command, the rain held off through their first look and portraits, and began to drizzle only as we captured the final family photo. But by the time the final guests arrived, rain was pouring down in sheets unlike anything we had seen in months. Thankfully, their incredible planner, Mary of Mary Elizabeth Events, had already made the right call. The entire wedding stayed cozy and dry beneath Grelen’s covered pavilion, while the storm created the most dramatic atmosphere outside. As the afternoon transitioned to cocktial hour, the clear walls and ceiling of the wedding pavilion still allowed natural light to flood the space, giving everything a bright feel despite the storm outside. Then, almost as if on cue, the rain stopped just in time for evening portraits at Grelen’s hilltop Bloomfield location. There, Carson and Travis soaked in their first quiet moments together as husband and wife.
Your rainy day spring wedding at the Market at Grelen was the perfect example of how joy and flexibility can make a wedding unforgettable. You embraced every unexpected moment with so much grace and excitement, and the result was a day full of laughter, romance, and beautiful memories. Thank you for trusting us to capture it all: rainstorms, hilltop portraits, and everything in between.
With love,
Sarah and Hunter
