Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
It was just after 1:00 pm, barely two hours before we had planned to leave for Shenandoah National Park for our engagement session with Tyler and Kathleen. Sarah and I were talking through our plan for the session, when a text silently popped up on my phone screen. Tyler and Kathleen had been rear-ended barely 15 minutes outside of DC! Oh no!! Once they had let us know that they were okay and nobody was hurt, our next fear came to our mind: rescheduling their session before the fall was over! Autumn was descending in force, and we knew it would be too cold to shoot within only a few weeks. Having approximately zero free Saturdays before Thanksgiving, we were stressing that we might have to put their session off until the Spring.
But a few minutes later, as if reading our minds, Tyler gave us a call, coolly mentioning that they had left his car with a mechanic in DC and were on their way to Charlottesville in Kathleen’s car. They knew they wouldn’t have time to make it to Shenandoah with enough time to shoot before sunset, but being Wahoos to their hearts, they suggested the Lawn instead. When we met them there a few hours later, we expected to find a flustered couple stressing over their wrecked car and the cool photoshoot location they were missing out on. But of course, we’re talking about Tyler and Kathleen – the king and queen of chill. Not only were they not flustered, but they looked as though they were enjoying themselves on this beautiful fall evening!
In a culture that is so full of over-stress and anxiety, it was a true breath of fresh air to work with two such cool and collected individuals. Your demeaner and attitudes throughout our session spoke not just of confidence and collection, but of fun and excitement over your impending marriage! We would have had no idea about your stress-inducing afternoon if you hadn’t told us in advance! Thank you both for being so easy to work with, so willing to go with the flow, and so comfortable in front of our lenses. We cannot wait to be back on the Lawn next summer for your wedding day!
With love,
Sarah + Hunter
