Gwen and Miriam knew what it meant to make their wedding day truly their own. From the very beginning, they knew that their same-sex, Hispanic-American wedding wasn’t going to be your average wedding day. After all, how many wedding days skip florals so they can invest in pyrotechnics instead?! But that’s Gwen and Miriam! Ever since we first met them in the summer of 2022, they’ve known what they wanted. Namely, to marry each other! But secondly, to have a wedding day that’s focused on their love, and celebrate with their friends and family. Oh, and maybe a rainbow explosion during their first kiss, if that’s not too much to ask 😂

Another totally unique aspect of Gwen and Miriam’s wedding was the melding of two cultures. There were Mexican influences injected all throughout an otherwise traditional American wedding. Sure, they had a cocktail hour following the ceremony… but with a Mariachi band, a special surprise Gwen planned for Miriam! And yes, they had a ceremony with formal wedding parties standing behind each of them… but the ceremony was in both English and Spanish!

Thank you so much for trusting us to photograph your same-sex Hispanic-American wedding day last month! We could tell right away during your engagement session on the National Mall two summers ago that  you two felt comfortable in front of our cameras. So it means so much that you trusted us to photograph the next stage of your journey as well! We hope these images always bring you back to October 12th, and remind you of your feelings for each other.
