When Charlotte and Clay first sat down with us in their consultation meeting and told us that they love hiking and the outdoors, we knew right away that Blackrock Summit would be the perfect location for their engagement session. Their quiet and contemplative nature was a perfect complement for the soft blues and greens of spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and the fact that it required an additional hour of driving and a short hike didn’t faze them one bit!

 

As many of our couples do, Charlotte and Clay told us before their engagement session that they were afraid they’d be a bit awkward in front of the cameras. As always, we reassured them that they’d warm up to us quickly and be naturals before they knew it. Boy were we right! As we walked Charlotte and Clay through our many signature poses (with the help of our corny jokes) they began to loosen up, laugh more, melt more naturally into each other’s arms, and twirl around on their cliffside perch like it was any other day.

We had such a great time getting to know you two better this past weekend! We’re grateful for your adventurous spirit and your willingness to shoot at a location so far into the wild! We know that the wedding day is less than a month away, but we hope that these photos serve to amplify the excitement and anticipation during these last few weeks before your wedding.
