Stunning Summertime Elopement on the Blue Ridge Parkway

It isn’t often that we post two blogs to our website in a single month of the same couple. But between Veronika and Mat’s busy schedule preparing for their elopement and moving across the world, plus our busy Spring shooting calendar, it was less than a month ago that we finally got together for their romantic sunset engagement session! We like to think they got the best of both worlds when it comes to Charlottesville photoshoots: a taste of the open-field-vineyard-greenery during their engagement session, and now the rugged-mountain-overlook vibe for their elopement!

And when it comes to their elopement, Veronika and Mat really planned it RIGHT with their families (thy had just 4 parents and 3 siblings present for their nuptials). They rented a house for the weekend in Wintergreen, which included a few good bottles of wine, a professionally-made cake, and even a private chef for dinner! They had such a wonderful plan to make a whole weekend out of their elopement! But before they rejoined their families after the ceremony, we swept them around for some sunset portraits. Fresh out of the ceremony, there was plenty of joy and love between them, and the time flew by so quickly! We wish we could’ve spent hours with these two on the mountainside!

It was such an honor to walk with you both through your elopement. You guys are SO much fun and our only regret is that we won’t get to spend more time with you two before you move 7,600 miles away! We hope that your journey to Japan and the life you build there is a blessing to you in the early years of your marriage. And we hope that these images serve as a reminder of your time in Virginia!
