Before all the guests take their seats, Hunter and I typically capture photos of the ceremony space all decorated and ready for the ceremony to begin. At Stephanie and Andrew’s fall wedding outside of Portland, Maine, we noticed something that seemed out of place next to their aspen arbor: a small stuffed teddy bear. We heard that it was “for the ceremony”, so we left it be and moved on. It wasn’t until the ceremony that we found out just how important this bear was. Stephanie and Andrew had been together since they were in high school more than a decade before. One evening, after Andrew had visited Stephanie’s college for the weekend, Stephanie wrote a note, folded it in half, and put the note inside her stuffed bear. That note, which she had written more than 5 years before their wedding day, and which she read aloud during their ceremony, confirmed that Andrew was the one, and that she was going to marry him one day.

All throughout Stephanie and Andrew’s wedding day, there were tears everywhere. From the parents to the bridesmaids, but especially during their ceremony. When Stephanie read this note aloud during the ceremony, there wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd! Listening to everyone’s excitement to finally celebrate Stephanie and Andrew more than 10 years was such a joy!

We loved getting to visit a place that is so dear to your hearts! Getting to know you both has been such a joy and capturing your wedding was an absolute honor! Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to travel to Maine in the fall, and for letting us capture your engagement session and wedding day! It has been so wonderful getting to know you two more, and we hope to keep getting to know you two as you finish up your time in C’ville!
