Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
Just like Sarah and I, Christie and Michael started dating in high school, and kept their relationship strong through four years of college at different Virginia universities. However, very unlike Sarah, Christie happened to attend a certain polytechnic institute in south-west Virginia that I don’t like to mention. But that’s okay — Michael and I won’t hold it against her 😉
But on a more serious note, we also noticed some more meaningful similarities in Christie and Michael. They also couldn’t help but make each other smile and laugh. While our biggest challenge is sometimes getting couples to smile naturally in front of the camera, we were just trying to get these two to stop laughing and chatting long enough to get a few photos! They also liked to joke on each other, something that is very familiar to Sarah and I. They also love each other a lot, and are just excited to be married. While Michael was finishing up changing into his second outfit, we asked Christie what her thoughts were on their fall 2020 wedding. Her response went something like this: “At this point, whether it’s 150 or 50 or 10, we’re getting married in 6 weeks and how ever many people are allowed to come will be there. We’re just ready to be married.” Amen, sister.
After almost an entire year of video chats and emails, it was so great to finally meet you two in person! You made a fantastic choice with James Monroe’s Highland — the venue really shines in full summer bloom! We’re also so glad that no matter what happens this fall, you two are ready to pronounce to the world your commitment to each other. And we’re honored that we’ll get to be there to capture it! We hope that this blog and the rest of the photos that follow will only get you two more excited for the big day that’s to come in less than 5 weeks!
