Valor has grown SO much since we saw him this winter 😠As Sarah and I have gotten older and some of our friends have become parents, we’ve begun to experience firsthand (or at least, closer than before) how quickly kids grow in their early years of life! We captured Abigail and Rigo’s family mini-session barely 6 months ago, and since then Valor has gone from a chunky little baby to a curious and adventurous toddler! We know that he still loves playing with Daddy and kisses from Momma, but his new infatuation with sticks made an appearance several times in the photos 😂
And as always, we were fascinated by some of Abigail and Rigo’s unique parenting philosophies. Most notable this past week was their “one parent one language” approach, whereby Rigo speaks exclusively to Valor in his native Spanish, and Abigail only talks to him in English. Although he’ll likely take a bit longer to start speaking, he could grow up totally fluent in both languages! This meant that, “Valor, look over here!” was punctuated just as often with “Valór, mira aquÃ!” Even his name — a word easily spoken and understood by English- and Spanish-speakers alike — is a reflection of his dual heritage. Even Abigail’s French-Cajun roots are happy with a name so similar to the French “Valeur”!

We have no doubt that as Valor gets older in front of your eyes, the importance of family photos photos is becoming more and more obvious each day! It means so much that you trust us to take these images, and keep coming back year after year. From our little glimpses into your life as parents (including our annual board game night each Christmas!), we’ve already seen how wonderfully you two parent baby Valor and his big (furry) brother Atlas. We already can’t wait until next time!
