When Liesa reached out about turning their maternity session into a VMFA photoshoot, we were thrilled! One of the gifts of being a photographer is being able to capture couples for the biggest milestones in their lives. We are so thrilled when couples whose engagements and weddings we’ve captured turn into maternity sessions too! After capturing their wedding in the mountains in Maryland in 2021, they surprised us by their location selection. Their fine art maternity session at the VMFA was a gorgeous contrast to their countryside wedding!

Liesa and Patrick were up for anything during their VMFA photoshoot! With the Virginia Museum of Fine Art came a lot of creative ideas. And they were ready and trusted us for whatever came to our minds! As we lightly spoke our ideas to them (so as not to disturb others), we could see everything come back to them. They naturally began to remember how we interacted with them during their wedding and engagement sessions! As we listened to their excitement for their family addition, we remembered how wonderful it is to come alongside our couples for the next chapter of their lives.

Thank you both for allowing us to capture this time! As another pregnant couple, it was so good to talk with people who understand what we’re going through in that moment. You guys were full of awesome advice and tips for us! We will absolutely keep you in our prayers for a smooth pregnancy and birth this Spring!  And as you two walk into parenthood, we hope that these images will bless your growing family and always remind you of the love you have for each other.
