When we saw that the forecast just said “wind,” we knew that Amelia & Shawn’s Boars Head engagement session would require a lot of patience on their part. Between wind gusts and chilly spring weather, we normally would have postponed their session. But since they were visiting charlottesville from New York for only a few days, it was now or never! Luckily, Amelia and Shawn were probably the two best people for an engagement session like this! Not only were they incredibly patient, they were so much fun! As we twirled around to try and find exactly where the wind was blowing, these two truly embraced the wind and just laughed. They giggled with each other as the wind blew their hair all over the place!

Something we normally love about our Boars Head engagement sessions are the gorgeous rolling hills. But as the wind whipped over the highest points, we tried to tuck away where we could. The most pleasant surprise of all awaited us near the big tree: blooming daffodils! There was the most precious clump of flowers blooming, despite the cold wind that afternoon. Even their pups, Apollo and Diffa, started to shiver after a bit! But these bright yellow beauties were a perfect reminder to focus on the good. And Amelia and Shawn filled their session with so much good!

You two are absolute sweethearts. Thank you both for finding time for this session in this hugely busy season of your life! Planning a wedding, moving, and balancing your jobs is a lot to manage. And you both have been so kind throughout our entire interaction with you. We love seeing the heart that you have for each other, and we cannot wait to capture your wedding in a little over a month!
