Wintery Surprise Proposal at Barboursville Vineyards Ruins

Raquel knew that something was up. Her and Paul were sipping wine in the tasting room at Barboursville Vineyards as part of a weekend getaway in Charlottesville wine country. Well, she was sipping. Paul had basically chugged each of the tastings. “I guess he’s thirsty?”, she remembered thinking to herself. He had definitely been acting strange all day. But in reality, Paul wasn’t thirsty – he was nervous! Little did Raquel know, they were just a few moments away from one of the biggest moment of their lives!
After their last sip of wine, they decided to take a walk and explore the Jeffersonian ruins that Barboursville is centered around. Paul, being a history buff, was naturally excited to see these 200-year old ruins. But he was much more excited to get down on one knee and ask Raquel to marry him! Even though she was suspicious, his proposal caught her totally off-guard. She told us in an email the next day that she temporarily blacked out when Paul got down on one knee, so she’s glad we were there to photograph the big moment! 😂

You two are the sweetest! The way you both reacted to each other during the proposal and engagement mini-session afterwards was beyond wonderful. Raquel, your joy permeated the entire session, and your laughter was contagious! Paul, your months of careful planning clearly paid off, and everything came together perfectly!
