Hunter went full-time with photography in June, while Sarah was still working another full-time job. At the end of 2018, after 2,000 combined hours of work, our photography business net only $26,000. But we knew we were laying the foundations...
2018
We spent the next two years working hard, learning as much as we could, and HUSTLING in our business. Oh, and surviving a global pandemic! Despite the challenges during COVID, our business grew so fast that Sarah joined Hunter full-time in 2020. We launched our free Apprentice Program in 2019.
2019-2020
After photographing 40 weddings and more than 100 portrait sessions in 2021, our business brought in more than $200,000 for the first time! But we were running ourselves ragged. We had reached profitability, but the pace was anything but sustainable.
2021
This was the year where we buckled down, overhauled our business and our brand, and did whatever it took to begin pushing into the high-end wedding market. We went from 40 weddings to 30 while maintaining our overall growth. We also officially launched Hunter and Sarah Photography Education.
2022
Solidly established as a high-end wedding photography team, we photographed just 15 weddings this year, and continued producing content for photographers to grow their own businesses.
2023
Our son was born in 2024, and we began to fully appreciate the lifestyle that a profitable and sustainable wedding photography business afforded us. We get to provide a boutique service to high-end couples on beautiful wedding days, and feel confident in the work we deliver and the experience we give our couples. In 2025 we photographed our 200th wedding, or 1,000th portrait session, and conducted our 200th hour of coaching!
2024 and Beyond
