Hi, we're Hunter and Sarah, a husband-and-wife, luxury wedding photography team. We’re also educators, helping other photographers build profitable and sustainable photography businesses.
Although it sounds like an obvious thing to say, we just feel like it needs to be said: weather in Virginia is un-pre-dic-tah-bull! When Vanessa and Kevin began planning their Moss Vineyards wedding for the second weekend in November, they surely had that in the back of their minds. And in the three weeks leading up to their wedding day, Charlottesville had its first few lows in the 20s, and we had almost a half-dozen portrait sessions postponed due to rain. So needless to say, Hunter and I were checking the forecast almost hourly in the days leading up to Vanessa and Kevin’s big day.
But when the day finally arrived, our worries were alleviated. Yes, it was cold, with peak temperatures barely hitting the mid-40s. But Vanessa threw a fur shawl over her elegant white dress, and Kevin (who we learned during their mid-December engagement session last year loved the cold) was perfectly comfortable despite the cloudy skies and cool breeze. Vanessa and Kevin’s emotional first look came and went (and with mini breaks to heat back up inbetween), we captured the two of them and their wedding party and their families. And just as we were about to lament that we wouldn’t get true sunset portraits, the skies parted and revealed the most beautiful (and warm) November sunset we had ever seen!
Weather aside, we couldn’t have asked for a better couple to round out our Fall with. After spending time with you during your engagement session almost a year ago, we had been looking forward to your wedding day ever since! You two are such loving and genuine souls, and as was evident during the reception – you just love to have fun! We’re still so grateful that we had the opportunity to capture your day, and know that we’ll keep in touch in the years to come 🙂
With love,
Hunter + Sarah
